Okay, so I've finally decided to get my act together and publish my first book. I've written a number of short stories, but this will be my first novel. All my powers of creativity, all the technical writing strategies that I've learned, and many of my life experiences have gone into this book. I've written it, edited it, and am now in the final stages of getting it formatted for publishing. I have been sitting on it for a while now, not entirely sure if it is good enough to be viewed by anyone other than me, let alone published for the world to see. I feel like how I imagine many people who go on talent shows must feel–both hoping for success, but also worried that they will be written off as a delusional quack who is imagining that they have a skill that they do not possess.
While I work through the final stages of publishing, I will be posting some of the short stories I've written to this blog to give you a bit of a taste of how I write. The genres will vary from story to story, but my writing style is present in all of them. I encourage you to comment on the stories and tell me your thoughts (I promise to reply to all your comments). I hope you like them, and if you don't, please be gentle.
The release date will be in early December, and the book will be titled The Assassin's Hand, which will be the first installment in a three-part series. There's a bit more detail here if you're interested. And who knows, I might post some snippets from the book to this blog as well.
Happy reading!
Matthew Norman
